Michael E. Brunet, M.D. is widely recognized as one of Louisiana's sports medicine pioneers. He came to Mid State Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center from Tulane University, where he was the professor and chief of the Section of Sports Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He was also Vice Chair of the Orthopaedic Department.
Dr. Brunet, who served for many years as Head Team Physician for Tulane University Athletics, was also the Director of the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine. He is a second option physician for the NFL Players Association. Dr. Brunet received his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed orthopaedic residency at Tulane University School of Medicine. He also has completed a fellowship in Athletic Medicine and Hand Surgery from the University of Virginia Medical Center.
