Erik J. Bruce, M.D. completed his undergraduate degree at Tulane University in New Orleans. He graduated in 1995. He began Tulane Orthopaedic Residency 1999 and completed residency in 2004. He did a fellowship in sports medicine with Dr. Michael Brunet from August 1, 2004 to July 31, 2005.

Dr. Bruce is a board eligible American Board or Orthopaedic Sugery candidate at this time. He is a member of the American Academy or Sports Medicine.

Dr. Bruce is currently one of the team physicians for the Northwestern Demon's.

His practice specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopies of the knee and knee surgery, as well as knee reconstruction.

Dr. Bruce is a native of Cut Off, Louisiana. He received the Adopt-a-Student Scholarship for medical School. He received the Caldwell Award for excellence in orthopaedics along with the "Sink or Swim" award for outstanding general surgery intern. He also received the NCAA Entergy "Winning for Life" award in 1995.

Dr. Bruce was a 4-year letterman as an offensive lineman at Tulane University. He received a 5-year varsity football scholarship. He was 1st Team All South Independent Team 1993 and 2nd Team All Louisiana Team 1993. He was captain of the Tulane Football Team in 1994.

He is married to Jinnie Bruce who is a general surgeon in Alexandria, Louisiana.
