Phillip Bacilla, M.D. attended Notre Dame High School in Crowley. He obtained his undergraduate degree at LSU in Baton Rouge and finished his education at LSU Medical Center in New Orleans. He completed an Orthopaedic Residency at South Alabama in 1994. Dr. Bacilla then completed a one-year fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Mississippi Sports Medicine. Dr. Bacilla is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a member of the Arthroscopy Association of America, and a member of the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association.

Dr. Bacilla has been a partner of Mid State Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center since 2001. He specializes in arthroscopy of the knee, shoulder and elbow, and sports medicine. He is married to the former Kerrie Cart and they have two children-Emma and Zachary. Dr. Bacilla enjoys spending his free time with his family. He also enjoys hunting and fishing.
